Seiko Baselworld 2011 Sportura Models

Seiko announced the release of two new Sportura models, a chronograph featuring the 7T62 caliber and a 200M diver featuring the kinetic 5M62 caliber.

From the pictures, I think these look really sharp and the case work looks very impressive.  Both models feature an anti-reflective sapphire crystal and come in a variety of models.

Most interesting is this kinetic diver is strikingly similar to the recently released automatic diver SKZ325 (or the so called Stargate because of the three dimensional structure at the bezel pip)

I really like the Sportura Diver with black bezel over metal bracelet but looks like Seiko wants 600 Euros (USD $845) retail for one. I think the price is a bit steep considering that these do not have the Kinetic Direct Drive feature nor a perpetual calendar.

I would like to see how this new Sportura diver compares to the also all-new Citizen Signature Collection 300m diver's that have solar charging system, perpetual calendar and independent set hour hand.

While I find the Seiko better looking, the new Citizen luxury diver may give it a serious run for the money.

Again, I would have to see both side by side.

Seiko is good in re-branded old stock to new face and sell sky high price. It is typically a Seiko SKA371P1 model with new shirt. With a price USD $845, a new Tissot Seastar 300m can easily beat it.
