Casio is celebrating the 45th anniversary of Ultraman with a special limited edition release featuring a customized DW5600 and collector tin.
The model number will be DW-5600VTULTRAMAN-1TJR and 1,000 units will be made with an expected release of September 30, 2011 at a price of 19,000 Yen.
For those of you who don't know, Ultraman was the central character in a Japanese television show broadcast from 1966 to 1967. Along the same lines as Godzilla, Ultraman was a giant-sized alien who would save Earth from other giant-sized monsters intending to cause destruction and mayhem. As I was watching the Power Rangers with my son this morning I decided that the genre has not drifted too far in 45 years. For more information on Ultraman click here.
