New Orient Star Models Spotted

New Orient Star models have been posted on the Orient Japan website.  The Orient Star line is a Japan only product comparable to the Seiko SARB models.  These new Orient Star models are similar to the existing Orient Star Classic line although the new models are more traditionally styled with a 3 o'clock crown and date window and no power reserve indicator.  I know it makes no sense that the Classic line is actually less classic designed than these new models, but follow Orient long enough and you get used to these little quirky things.

The new Orient Star models have the timeless Japanese dial and hand designed packaged in a slightly modern styled case with an oblong shape along the horizontal.  They feature the hacking and handwinding 40750 caliber and anti-reflective coated sapphire crystal.  Available dial colors include black, white, blue and red.  MSRP is 50,400 Yen including Japan tax.  Case dimensions are 39mm in diameter, 46.5mm long and 11.3mm thick.

The Orient Star models represent exceptional quality for the price.  I have a Classic and I love it.  I have a soft spot for this style and I look forward to seeing some real life pictures.

The blue and red dials look fantastic. The also seem to have lume, a big plus.

I still prefer the WZ0091EL Orient Star with blue dial, power reserve indicator and date window at 9 o'clock.

Very tempting watches and well priced against Japan market Seiko SARB dress mechanicals.
